OVERVIEW

The Revenue Development Manager’s primary function is to strategically develop and advance the organizations donor relationships in tandem with the development team through individual donors, corporations, churches, non-profit organizations, grants, and foundations as well as create strategic and tactical plans to promote revenue generating projects, products or service offerings that build on Mercy Street’s mission, vision and community enrichment efforts.

The Revenue Development Manager will play an integral part of the Mercy Street team, helping to provide strategy to the annual revenue development planning cycle, managing personal revenue development goals, and contributing to overall development team goals. This position will build and develop prospect and donor relations and articulate Mercy Street’s goals, mission, and programs to prospective and current donors in a compelling manner.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Bachelor's Degree in business administration, business management. Non-profit work, fundraising, revenue management, or similar field and/or equivalent work experience.

In this role, this individual will be expected to make an immediate impact to the organization with regard to overall revenue development strategies, implementation, and growth initiatives. In order to accomplish this, the ideal candidate for this role should possess excellent strategic and operational skills, advanced communication skills, experience in product/service development, experience in financial analysis that impact potential development areas as well as non-traditional revenue generation, and strong project management and problem-solving skills. This individual has never met a stranger, and is adept in quickly developing and maintaining strong relationships with management, team members, donors, community leaders, municipalities, schools, churches, board members and other key stakeholders in order to achieve aggressive targets.

MINISTER OF THE GOSPEL

    • The Revenue Development Manager is first and foremost considered to be a Minister of the Gospel. This position furthers Mercy Street’s religious mission by:

    • Being willing and able to explain Mercy Street’s beliefs and Statement of Faith in person or over the phone to kids and families of Mercy Street.
    • Being ready, willing, and able to lead or contribute to distinctly Christian activities (including, but not limited to, worship or staff chapel).

    MANAGE FUNDRAISING STRATEGY & EFFECTIVENESS

    • In collaboration with the fundraising and leadership team, set fundraising goals from donors, and establish how to meet those goals through all contribution avenues.
    • Collaborate with the Development team to research, identify, prioritize and maximize funding opportunities.
    • Manage processes and procedures for maintaining records in donor database and other shared systems for compliance, reporting and strategic analysis.
    • Provide reporting on goal progress in regular cadence and make timely action plan recommendations as needed to insure goal attainment.

    MANAGE AND PROMOTE OTHER REVENUE STRATEGIES & EFFECTIVENESS

    • Set non-traditional revenue goals, establish to how to meet those goals, and implement or enhance those revenue streams.
    • Develop and maintain systems to support and track non-traditional revenue streams and their effectiveness.
    • Manage processes and procedures for maintaining records in database and other shared systems for compliance, reporting and strategic analysis.
    • Collaborate with other departments as needed to create compelling materials to promote offerings.
    • Stay current with community and industry knowledge, competitive analysis and overall trends to best support our collective offerings and efforts.

    OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

    • Projects and initiatives that move the ministry forward.
    • Serve on appropriate committees; attend staff meetings, and other staff functions.
    • Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the ministry and beyond.
    • Fulfill necessary tasks, projects, initiatives or roles as assigned.
